Lillian Disney’s Dog
For Christmas one year Walt Disney bought his wife Lillian Disney a Chow Chow dog, and put it in a hatbox for her to open. If this sounds familiar it’s because this story was later inspiration for the Disney movie Lady and the Tramp. They named the dog Sunnee, and Lillian reportedly adored it. Supposedly Sunnee got lost one day and Lillian was so upset she stayed up until two in the morning. The next day they luckily found Sunnee in Roy Disney’s garage. Here’s some pictures of the Disney’s with Sunnee.
In the 1940’s the Disneys got another dog, a poodle which they named Duchess or Dee Dee.
